Adult Choir

Our Adult Choir leads Woodhaven in worship each Sunday morning and for special services, such as our Thanksgiving, Advent and Easter celebrations.

What kind of music do we sing? You name it! We often sing arrangements of favorite hymns, contemporary Christian songs or even gospel or rhythmic a cappella tunes. (That's without instrumental accompaniment.)

We rehearse in the sanctuary every Wednesday evening, from 6:45 - 7:45 p.m., and we gather in the choir room downstairs at 10:15 a.m. each Sunday to warm up. In the summer, we typically reduce our rehearsals to twice a month.

We share our voices, and we also share laughter and life concerns. We end each rehearsal with fellowship time to express praises and prayer concerns, followed by a brief devotion.

No auditions are required for our volunteer choir, and we encourage adults to join us at any time throughout the year. The Advent season is always a great time to give our Adult Choir a try; we typically begin preparing in October.

Need more information or a little encouragement? Please contact Stephanie de Jong, our minister of music, for details.

"Sing Joy to all the World" Christmas Cantata
Sunday, Dec. 17

10:30 a.m.
(Free) Childcare is available.

Gather with us to hear the story of Emmanuel, God With Us! We gather to remember this story, to wait and watch for Him to come again, even now.

The theme of this inspiring Christmas work by Lloyd Larson is JOY. It celebrates the promise that joy comes to those who wait, that following the long dark night, the breaking of dawn brings joy for the new day.

The Old Testament tells of God's promise to Israel, which was fulfilled in the coming of the Messiah to the remote village of Bethlehem.

As recipients of that joy, it's our privilege and responsibility to share the good news, "Sing Joy to all the World!"
